Your brand isn't just your logo — it's the cumulative impression of every document you send. And nothing spreads faster or lands harder than a presentation. When a deck uses the wrong font, off-brand colors, or a random template, it quietly tells the audience: we don't pay attention to details. Here's how to fix that.

Why decks break brand consistency

It's rarely deliberate. Teams grab the nearest template, borrow slides from old decks, and export with default fonts. Over a year, a company ends up with fifteen slightly different "brands" floating around — and every one of them represents you in a meeting you weren't in.

Start with a locked template

The single highest-leverage fix: one master template per deck type (pitch, report, internal), with brand fonts, colors, and layouts locked in the slide master. When the template is right, people can't easily go off-brand — the defaults do the work. This is the same reason agencies always build on masters rather than ad-hoc slides.

Use your real color system

Pull the hex values from your brand guidelines — primary, secondary, accent, and neutrals. Then enforce a simple rule: one accent color per slide, reserved for emphasis. Decks that respect a color system look intentional; decks that use every color in the palette look like a festival flyer.

Lock down two fonts

One display font for headlines, one body font, and nothing else — not even "one more for emphasis". If your brand doesn't have fonts yet, pick a versatile pair (a strong sans for headlines, a clean readable sans for body) and standardize on it. Font consistency alone eliminates 80% of "homemade" deck vibes.

Standardize charts and data visuals

Charts are where brands fall apart: every team member uses a different chart style, color, and label format. Decide once — chart type per use case, brand-colored series, consistent number formatting — and save it in the template. Data slides then look as designed as the cover.

Logo and footer discipline

The logo belongs on the cover, optionally small on each slide, and on the closing. A footer with page numbers, confidentiality note, and a tiny wordmark adds a professional frame. But resist logo-stamping every corner — one consistent placement beats five scattered placements.

Consistency compounds trust

Clients, investors, and teams all read the same signal: a company that presents consistently is a company that operates consistently. It's a small investment with an outsized return — and it's why brand-consistent decks feel "expensive" even when the content is simple.
